Living with Brain Injuries
This year, about 2.4 million people
will sustain a traumatic brain injury (TBI), according to estimates
by the Brain Injury Association. About 52,000 people die from brain
injuries each year, 275,000 are hospitalized, and another 1.4 million
are treated and released. The symptoms brain injury victims suffer
will vary greatly depending on the severity and location of their
